Named for the Roman god Saturn, Saturday is the only day of the week not named for a Norse god. While compelled to present the data as it stands, I could not help but go out on a limb just once to include one of the most enigmatic characters within the Norse pantheon.
“What if?” Named for the Norse god Loki, Saturday is the sixth day of the calendar. The trickster god Loki is a central figure in Norse mythology. Father of giant wolf Fenrir, Jörmungadr the sea serpent and Hel, the ruler of the dead. A profound shape-shifter, many comparisons have been made to the North American mythological figure Raven.
Loki’s character is symbolic of man’s transient character, as he develops from a prankster to the malicious figure plotting the death of Baldr.
Measuring 10 inches by 10 inches, Saturday is great alone or in a group.
